Introduce yourself
My name is Gabriel Alvarado and I am the Senior Merchandiser for the Scania account here at Brand Addition. Born in Honduras and moved into the UK in June 2006.
Your journey, where you started to where you are now
I moved to the North West in 2008. I started working in Brand Addition 1st of March 2010 as an Account Executive for various account until the chance in the then called Project Coordinator team opened and did not think twice about taking the opportunity to take the position. The role then changed to Merchandiser. Back in 2019 I was part of the team for the Scania Tender where I was brought in to help put a “dummy range” of products. As the contract was won, I then formed part of the Scania team and got promoted to Senior Merchandiser.
How has Brand Addition helped you grow as a person?
I have learned a lot in my 15 years here at BA. I have grown as a person in both my personal and professional life. BA helped me understand how to take responsibility and how to take adversity and deal with it. Decisions I take here also help me with decision I take in my personal life.
What do you like most about your role?
The fact that I can take a brief from a client and knowing who the client is one of my strongest aspects. I can take products and make them look and fell the way the client is expecting. My greatest joy is seeing the approval in our client’s face and to see how well those products sell. I hear and read from colleagues how good products that I have developed move. That give me the fuel to carry on.
